An in depth but light hearted account of my journey through Chemotherapy. It is informative for those who care about me but also for those who are experiencing or about to experience the treatment.

Back From The Dead # 21
As with the past 2 treatments, this weekend was not as bad as previous ones when I was on the more powerful chemo versus just the clinical trial drug which apparently and unfortunately……DOESN’T WORK!
This drug does have an effect on my mouth that is very uncomfortable. My tongue swells and everything I eat seems to burn my tongue and cheeks. I’ve even had to resort to mixing wine 50/50 with water!! Is there no justice? I mean come on…..no wine? Besides it makes me pee all the time.
With all the pain that seems to surround us all these days……ever wonder if we have all been sucked into a parallel universe………the name would be the Murphy Universe and of course the only law is Murphy’s! (Chemo brain)
Right now I’m in a holding pattern. If my PSA goes up by as many points (10) as it did last time I will have to go off the clinical trial drug and within weeks I will be back on the hard stuff….I’ve tried to manifest as much as I can to get things going in my direction but this one seems inevitable….I’m going to have to bring back the big guns…and I’m rested and ready!
Doc said we can go back to Taxotere or try something else to which I said…. the Taxotere seemed to work and he said with a big grin “well, you sure have had a lot of it!”….I failed to find the humor in that.
I’m exploring some alternative treatments and medicines including Holistics. It will certainly mean a lifestyle change (I ordered a turban today :)…seriously, it is a healthier food regime along with achieving a balance between the mind, body and spirit.
As far as the lifestyle change goes……this current one hasn’t been all that much fun….so why not change? Change can be Good!
Thank you for the Spiritual Light and Prayers…….Bob
