Life From Here. Update # 96

The reason for this report is to say that I have nothing to report.

It appears that I will have to wait until the 15th to get in to see the Duke oncologist. I have been waiting for an information packet from Duke, telling me what to expect, how to plan, will I need a room, etc. I’m going to finally find out what is going on!....Well, it came….it was a frigging map of the hospital campus with a note saying I had an appointment at 1:15 where the arrow is.

Sooooo, I called the Doc and talked to his nurse. She said “Oh, you’re just going in for an evaluation to see if you fit in any of their programs”…..Huh!    What if I don’t? (Dead silence)…”Oh but you will and we’ll deal with that if it happens”.  Easy for her to say.

Ever watched the scene where guy "A" keeps opening doors for guy "B" until they get to one door and guy "B" walks through first….and then SLAM!  And guy "B" is standing outside with a stupid look on his face?....I don’t really see that happening. Besides, I have a stupid look on my face lots of times.

The reality is that I’m very optimistic about Duke. If they don’t have a current program, maybe they’ll let me choose from a list! Yeah that’s it! # 4. Massive doses of Eye of Newt and leg of squirrel.

I'm still experiencing a constant backache (Bone pain) but once again my friend Tylenol to the rescue.  It doesn't eliminate it but makes it less severe.  It's amazing how the human body can adjust to a point where certain discomforts become normal and you just make it a part of your life.
And I could probably get something stronger that would temporarily alleviate the pain altogether......If I want to walk around looking like a foggy eyed mouth breather!

I have far too much fight left in me to be turned away and I’ll make sure they know it! And if I were a betting man…..I’d bet on me!
