Well, I’m not going to be a Duke Lab Rat for a while…..been there, done that, got the Board Game….I’m good! They actually don’t have one available right now.
The plan will be that I get treated in Charlotte by the Charlotte Doc (Yeah!) with what the Duke Doc called a “Gentle” chemotherapy (which is like saying a “Gentle Plane Crash”!).
There is a new Drug, MD 20-20 or something like that that is expected to be approved by the wonderful FDA by July/August. So the interpretation is KEEP HIM VERTICAL TILL THEN!!!
Remember….I'm fighting cancer…I’m not dying from it!
Ya know, when you're at “deaths door” (I said nothin’ about goin’ through it……..just there) you tend to see the world differently.
Everything is important but, yet, nothing matters.
You see and appreciate things around you that you didn’t see before.
I don’t think you can get there unless you’ve truly faced a “beast” in your life. But if I could grant a wish for everyone it would be that you could see the world this way without the negative and for it to reveal it’s self to you early in your life…..My life may have been different…I don’t know. I’m not talking about religion or talks with your “God”, whoever He or She is, this is more than just the Spiritual, it’s recognizing the beauty of our lives here on earth….and only loving those other creatures or "Things (?)" on this planet that can actually love you back.
There’s more stuff to come after this…I know that, but don’t lose sight of this environment.
I’m a true believer that we come back around if that is our destiny or we have Karma items to deal with.
We are Spirits with body’s not body’s with Spirits!.....So we better enjoy this part while we can. I’m not saying the next phase, whatever that may be, will be anything less but it may not be same…..so appreciate it while you’re here!
I’m sure not going to miss the drive but I will miss fumbling around at Duke and meeting the people I’ve met. That is one fine establishment. If the new drug doesn’t work then I’m sure a new trial will come along. I’m not worried and neither should you be.

Nice touch calling it MD 20/20. And good idea to have a "Bob's greatest hits" section, for those of us who missed some of the earlier posts. The comment about "Christian Mingle" is great. I always think of you when I see those signs. Sending you positive energy as always. Amy M
